>p> What exactly is a Wireless System?
A wireless system is a modification of hardwired security system. It is a popular way of securing your home from burglars and other situations like floods or fire.
It has proven to be so effective that a great number of consumers are buying this type of system. Wireless systems are popular since it does not necessitate having wire strung through the home in order to transmit signs from the house to the monitoring stations if the owner decides to go that route.
As the technology increases better equipment is developed that adds to the convenience and cost of owing a wireless system. Wireless is easier to mount and connect sensors from the controls making it much easier to protect your home or business.
The hardwired systems posed several problems to the homeowner. The first was routing the wires through the home which necessitated drilling holes in walls and floors. The second was the fact that a savvy burglar could conveniently cut the wires and enter the home. Thirdly, time and other situations could wear the insulation causing sensitivity and false alarms.
How does a wireless system work?
Transmission of signals has been made much easier with the use radio waves rather than wires. Think in terms of a conventional phone and a cell phone. Which do you think is more convenient and versatile? Most would prefer the cell phone. This concept hold true for a wireless system also. It can basically be set to be monitored by an outside monitoring service or unmonitored.
Some systems will sound a loud sound to scare away the intruder and alerting the homeowner. In these cases, you want the system to automatically shut-off after a period of time and reset itself. That's a very important consideration. Yes, scare away the burglar, but for heaven's sake stop and reset instead of sounding off for hours. When purchasing such a system, check with the company to make sure that there is a stop and reset to the system. With the monitored system, the company will check with the homeowner to make sure everything is ok. They may have alerted the police immediately.
The unmonitored system sounds a loud alarm. No one is notified and generally the alarm shuts off after a long period of time - much to the annoyance to the neighbors.
Motion sensors detect movement, the control panel picks up the information from the motion sensors and notifies authorities.
When determining what type of system you need all aspects should be researched before purchasing a wireless system. Make sure it works for you and your needs not against you!
